Abortion- A Cause for Chastisement?

by Scapular John

In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 30, verse 19 we read, "I call heaven and earth to witness this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing.  Chose therefore life, that both thou and thy seed may live."

So, what do many people do?  They choose death.  In so doing they bring down God's curse.

In the book of Zacharias, chapter 13, verse 8 and 9, we read in regard to the inhabitants of the earth, "two parts in it shall be scattered and shall perish, but the third part shall be left therein.  And I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them..."  In another part of Scripture it says, 'the wages of sin is death.'

Some women feel it is their body and they can do what ever they want.  In the 23 psalm of the Douay-Rheims Bible we read in verse 1 "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof: the world and all they that dwell therein."

God gives us stewardship of it and of our lives and we are going to have to as account of it to Him.  Baruch, chapter 6, verse 6, "For my angel is with you, and I myself will demand an account of your souls."

Some women feel it is just a fetus they are carrying around for the first several months.  Scripture says about Mary, Luke, Chapter 2, verse 5,  she was, "with child," not a fetus.

When Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, whom the angel said that she was in the 6th month, "the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.  And she cried out with a loud voice and said, Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" (Luke 1, 41-43)

If Mary was carry a fetus of a few days old, for we are told she went in hast to help her elderly cousin Elizabeth, Luke 1:39, how is it the Elizabeth's baby leapt with joy? Luke 1:44.  How can one fetus rejoice over and other fetus, unless it is not a fetus.  Does not Scripture clearly said they are baby and in infant?

Also the Holy Ghost revealed to Elizabeth that it was not only was a baby that was in her presences, but the "Lord."  For Mary was "the mother of my Lord..."  It was not the mother of a fetus. .

So, if the infant Jesus was in one of the wombs of today's mothers would be aborted, or rather killed?  The answer is, yes.  For Sacred Scripture said, "What you do unto one of these little ones, you do on to me."

It seems that many of us have forgotten the first commandment that God gave us that pertains to one another, that is, "Thou shalt not kill."

Picture

It also seems that many of us have forgotten that there is nothing that God will not forgive us for.  We just need to ask God for the grace of truly being sorry for what we have done and confess it to a Priest and then do penance for our sin.

Picture

More then we realize, we are not in this alone. First Corinthians 12:26, tells us if one person does good all the rest of us benifit from it. And is one person does bad, we all suffer the conquences from it.  .

Abortion is so wide spread that it is becoming a world wide epidemic.  Romans 12;19 says, "Revenge is mine, I will pay, saith the Lord."

In the Book of Jonas we see that King and the people of Ninive repented of their ways.  The King said,  'Let people nor animals eat or drink, and cry to the Lord with all their strength.'  "God saw their works, that they were turned from their evil way: and God had mercy with regard to to the evil which he had said that he would do to them, and he did it not." (Jonas 3:8-10)
With our prayers, feastings, works of reparations and loving God with all our hearts we too with the intercession of the Blessed Mother to Jesus can expect of God's  just Mercy.
