As alluded to in the Bible,
mentioned by saints, and mystics, the three days of darkness will be one
of horror and dread. Afterwards many people will left dead.
However, Blessed candles of at least 51% beeswax can give comfort, hope, peace and light in times of great darkness.
One particular mystic who tells explicitly what the three days of darkness will be about is Marie-Julie Jahenny. She suffered the wounds of Christ's passion every Friday for some 67 years, plus many other extraordinary sufferings as a victim soul for us.
Many of her extraordinary prophecies have come true to the day.

Marie-Julie announced that during the three days of darkness the infernal powers of Hell will be loosed and will execute all the enemies of God. "The earth will be come like a vast cemetery. The bodies of the wicked and the just will cover the ground."
The famine will be great. Confusion will be everywhere. The three days of darkness will be on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Our Blessed Mother said the thunder and lightening will be intense. Those with no faith or trust in my power will die of fear.
"During these three days of terrifying darkness, no windows must be opened, ... because no one will be able to see the punishment on earth and its terrible color with out dying at once."
"The sky will be on fire, ...No one outside a shelter...will survive. The earth will shake as at the judgment and fear will be great.
The heat from will be unbearably hot, even in closed homes.
The Blessed Mother also added, "We will hear your prayers. Those who served me well and invoked me, who have my blessed picture in their house, who carry my Rosary on them and say it often, I will keep intact all that belongs to them..."
The blessed candles will be lighted ever where. No other light will shine. Lightning will not penetrate into the houses where there be the light of the blessed candle. The light is the only thing that will protect you."
Note, It is recommended that matches should be blessed. Supposedly, to light candles from gas stoves, lighters, ect. may not work. It is better to be safe then sorry.
It been said that regardless of the height of the candle, it will last the duration of the three days of darkness. As you may know there have been cases where candles and oil lamps have lasted several times the allotted time.
During these terrifying times, its been suggested to on the floor be be in prayer, reading Sacred Scripture, fasting and doing reparation for sins.
Other sources of protection are sacramentals, such as the Brown scapular, the Benediction & Protection scapular, Holy Water, Blessed Salt, or better yet, exorcised Holy Water & Salt.
The devils, the forces of evil, will be on a rampage out to destroy souls. One may even hear one's own child outside crying to come in, however, it could be a trick of the devil imitating your child to enter your home to do destruction. In either case one is not supposed to open one's door to anyone.
Regardless of what exactly what will happen during the three days days of darkness know one knows for sure, but it is felt that having Blessed candles and Blessed matches is important to have have in your home for this reason and other sacramental uses such as when a Priest visits your home for sick calls and for the dying.
